The art of procrastination, season two
Episode one: Swimming my life away
Last Sunday, my friend asked me if I wanted to go to the pool at school. I had been meaning to go for the past year or so, somehow never being able to work a proper timing to actually make it…
The first cool part about Brock’s swimming pool is that because I’m a Brock student, I get to swim for free. Financial issue resolved, and still fully embracing the values of procrastination, we hopped on the bus and headed to Brock. Now the swimming pool on Sunday doesn’t seem to attract many people for only about ten people were actually there. This was nice because it left us lots of room to swim around. Unfortunately, after a couple humiliating laps I realized how outrageously out of shape I was. I walked out of the pool, and coughed my way to the second cool part about Brock’s swimming pool, the hot tub! Life makes so much more sense in a hot tub, and sitting around in the incredibly warm water, surrounded by funky bubbles is really fulfilling in itself!
To conclude on my first Brock pool experience (after two years, it was probably about time), even though I saw my life running in front of my eyes as I was waddling aimlessly in the Olympic size pool, the sense of satisfied exhaustion and the transcendental hot tub experience made it all worthwhile.
It is now understood that my friend and I will go every Saturday after work, and soon (I hope) my shameful out of shape performance will have become a simple bad dream!
