It’s all about the Benjamins $$$

I’ve realized that I’m a forward thinker, about 10 paces forward! If I get into my number one choice for grad school, I need to think about saving money to get my own apartment which means that I need to get a great job this summer which is going to pay me bundles and bundles of loot $$$$$! Since I’m going away to Namibia for most of May I will have to be a go getter for June-August. I’ve worked several different jobs while being here for school and I’ve learned that the easiest way to look for jobs or volunteer positions in the area is through Brock’s Career Services. Career services is a pretty cool place for a couple of reasons:

1) They have a job posting board which separates different types of jobs and volunteer positions by subject (ex. Law and Security, Education, Sports and Recreation etc.) and there are always plenty of options

2) They offer services to review your cover letter and resume and can offer advice on how to improve your current template

3) They even offer workshops to give you practice with your interview skills and offer constructive feedback.

So alas, I will certainly miss Career Services next year when I’m on the job market again. And incase you’re thinking, “it’s only the end of November why is this crazy girl thinking about a job for June already?!” Well it’s like my grandmama always said….The early bird catches the worm!
